Jay McCarroll, the local fashion designer known for winning season 1 of Project Runway as well as season 7 of Celebrity Fit Club, is coming to Wilkes-Barre for a trunk show at Outrageous on Saturday, April 20 th !
Outrageous, located in the Midtown Village in downtown Wilkes-Barre, is your one stop shop for all of your women's jewelry, accessory, and clothing desires. Outrageous is home to an eclectic, fun, kitschy array of merchandise. Their funky products are priced affordably so shoppers of all budgets can find just what they're looking for. Outrageous was one of the first stores to carry items from the Jay McCarroll label and many of his products are available at Outrageous. The owner of Outrageous, Paul Nardone, is a long time friend of Jay McCarroll.
“I met Jay over ten years ago when he stumbled into Outrageous carrying two garbage bags stuffed with pillows,” said Paul. At that time, Outrageous was located in the Back Mountain and selling furniture. “I immediately fell in love with Jay's products and started carrying them at Outrageous.” Not long after this, Jay opened a store called Round 2 above Outrageous where he sold accessories, clothing, vintage and re-made items. Paul remained in close contact with Jay throughout his journey on Project Runway and his time in New York City.
Paul is very excited to be hosting Jay again! Jay too is so happy to be home. McCarroll, who through his adventures on Project Runway, Celebrity Fit Club and his own personal endeavors, has traveled all over and had a lifetime of experiences. However, there's nothing like coming home. Jay said, “You can travel the world over, yet there's nothing as refreshing as being with the ones who love and support you in the place where you grew up”.
